The story. Literature, cinema, television
The reader of a novel, the viewer of a film or a TV series, can see in the work something that goes far beyond the textual content. The consumption of fractional stories involves a considerable cognitive and interpretative investment, often neglected by classical narratology. And this is all the more true in the contemporary world, where a transmedia audience (i.e. all of us) approaches the strong narrative of skills that hybridize different semiotic systems. These are the most evident methodological innovations of this manual of narratology.
